Purse snatching statistics continue to rise, even as police forces grow and public security cameras multiply. Ladies are finding new
handbag designs to keep their valuables safe.
Ever notice that you see more and more police in your local town or city these days? Or maybe you’ve noticed that public security cameras have become less and less inconspicuous. No, you aren’t becoming paranoid: in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, local and state governments are investing more and more in public safety and police in order to curb the rise of violent crime against citizens.
And yet, in spite of these efforts, violent crime and theft continue to rise in all of the developing countries. In 2009 alone, there were over 220,00 reported purse snatching attempts, in spite of the fact that there are more eyes — and more serious consequences — in place for assault and theft across America.
For women, handbags have always been a true fashion obsession: while their function and practicality always remains a consideration, handbags give ladies the opportunity to put the finishing touch on their own one-of-a-kind look. Moreso than any other fashion accessory, the handbag offers women an immediately striking and noticeable fashion statement.
But with purse snatching on the rise, women are rethinking the traditional handbag altogether.
