Louis Vuitton bikini, courtesy of news.com.au
As if bikinis are not a statement enough on the beach, designer handbag brands are now jumping into the swimsuit market. Does a designer handbag-branded bikini make you the most stylish lady on the beach, or just a purse in a two-piece?
If you write a fashion blog enough, you’ll be amazed at how often Paris Hilton manages to insert herself into the fashion scene, no matter how inconsequential she may seem. But when I recently came upon a striking Coach bikini set on a designer handbag website, I decided to put two disparate keywords together — “designer handbag” and “bikini” — and see what allmightly Google came up with.
Low and behold, there was lithe Paris Hilton, sporting a Louis Vuitton bikini.
Even more striking was that this wasn’t some paparazzi shot — she had apparently done a whole photo shoot for the designer handbag giant! And in many ways, Paris Hilton wearing a bikini branded with one of the most heralded purse designers in the world was, for lack of a better word, fitting, given that the fact that she — much like a vintage designer handbag — has been handled several times in the past.
But I digress.

be caught dead with a “man purse” (even if it was a designer one), he seems inspired to use Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Balanciaga designer handbags as a new form of currency that trumps cold, hard cash.
The first story of Cowell distributing designer handbags came at the end of his tenure on American Idol. As a gesture of appreciation for all the hard work his staff put into the show, Cowell gave them all designer handbags as parting gifts.
A nice gesture, to be sure.

Oh, the things that women will do for fashion – like almost die for their designer handbag.
Perhaps for eons, women have boasted, complained, and quaniified the outrageos lengths they take to look their best. Whether its cramming their poor toes into stiletto heels, spending hours applying make-up in front of their mirrors, or plucking their eyebrows until it feels like blood is shooting from their eyeballs, there are a million inexplicably self-flagellating beauty techniques that are deployed by womendom.
Now, a new line has been crossed: risk your life for your designer handbag.

 Classic Showstopper
More often than not, designer handbags don’t do a good job of holding and protecting electronics. This new little purse, however, is one of the few fashion accessories that can pull it off.
Ever notice that the world of bags and cases are incredibly segregated? Designer handbags and fashion accessories from the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Lanvin, etc. are made entirely for the fashion world, while companies like Belkin, Griffin, Uniea, and Case-Logic make cases for all things tech. Occasionally, the designer handbag companies will attempt to make an [overpriced] designer handbag or case for iPhones, laptops, iPads, or whatever newfangled gadget has hit the market, but rarely do these designer handbag-inspired cases offer the features or protection that gadget junkies are looking for.
The converse is true with the consumer electronics accessories companies: they try desperately to make “fashionable” cases for gadgets, but they typically fall short of the style mark. These cases, after all, are usually designed by people who follow the world of electronics — not the world of fashion.
